Memory-from-nowhere moment
Did any of you ever use twist-ties to make rings and wear them on your fingers when you were a kid?
I ask because I just found a twist-tie on my desk, and without thinking slipped it over my finger as though it were a ring. Then I looked down and realized what I'd done. (Left middle finger, if you must know.)
Way back when, my mother disallowed me to do the twist-tie ring thing really, because she was afraid I'd scratch my face.

Yes, I've done the ring thing but also the braces thing! I actually thought braces were soooo cool, so I took off the paper/plastic stuff from the wire and made teeny knobs of twisted wire with a tail, long enough to wrap around each tooth. I successfully made 5 for my top teeth, and by then I began tasting a strong metal flavor that persuaded me to remove them and throw them away. My mom never saw me do that, so she didn't have anything to say about it.
Bleah, I can still taste that metal.
